An annual tradition continued Thursday morning in Terre Haute, the painting of the shamrock at 19th and Poplar.
The painting takes place in anticipation of the 36th annual St. Patrick's Day festivities.
It kicks off this Saturday with a 5k walk or run at 10 A.M. followed by the St. Pat's Parade at 1 p.m.
The celebration will end with the St. Pats dinner and party beginning at 6 P.M. with music provided by the Macdaddys.
Tickets must be purchased in advance at the St. Patrick's Rectory and school office.
