If you ever find yourself stuck trying to come up with an idea for an easy and healthy meal, there's an event to help you whip up some ideas.

Whip It Up Wednesday at Booker T. Washington Community Center in Terre Haute was held Wednesday night.

It's a workshop that teaches people how to prepare quick and healthy meals for their families.

Instructors demonstrate how to cook the meals and then participants can take the recipes to cook them at home.

Organizers say they want to show people that healthy meals can be easy too.

"We're taking this time to show them there are alternatives to macaroni and cheese, your everyday food that people generally make. There are healthy alternatives they can do. They're just as quick, just as easy and just as inexpensive," says Alia Hazel, the CHANCES For Indiana Youth program director.

Whip It Up Wednesdays are a collaborative effort by the United Way's Community Health Initiative, CHANCES For Indiana Youth and Purdue Extension - Vigo County.

If you missed the event, there is another Whip It Up Wednesday next week at 5:30 PM.
