The Linton Fire department teamed up with the mayor's office to host a Meet the State-Bound Linton Miners Basketball Team event Thursday night.
The team was on hand to pose for pictures, meet fans and sign autographs. The mayor's office and local businesses showed their support for the number 10 ranked Miners by donating hamburgers and hot dogs for the meet and greet.
Fans say the Miners' success has the whole community rallying behind them: "It has been a big event. It has been really talked about; well publicized, so it is kind of new and it's very well hyped. And the community has really responded and come out in full force," says Steve Fougerousse, Linton Miner Dess Fougerousse's father.
The Miners play in the Class 2-A state title game this weekend.
