Couple celebrates milestone at senior citizen prom

community hosted its second annual prom for seniors on Friday evening. All over 55 years old were welcome.
"It has just been a great turnout. People are enjoying it. Fabulous '40s 16-piece band is here playing great music and everyone is just having a blast," says Beth Clark, Executive Director of The Wyndmoor.
A prom night isn't complete without the crowing of a king and queen. Nelson Eddy and Janelle Olds won the titles.
"I was surprised! I didn't even expect it," says Eddy, a retired police officer.
"I'm so surprised and I'm really touched," says Olds who has lived at The Wyndmoor for just a few months. She remembers her first prom--sort of. "[I wore] a green dress--mint green. And my date was... God, I don't even remember!" she says laughingly.
Other notable prom-goers include Robert and Faith Baum. "This is the anniversary of our 52nd prom we went to 52 years ago," explains Faith.
Robert invited Faith to the Fayette High School junior/senior prom when he was 17 and she just 14. The pair went their separate ways after Robert moved to California following graduation. Each married and had children, but their story wasn't over.
"About three and a half years ago I met up with him again, and so he said, 'Can I go to church with you?' And I said, 'Sure, let's go.'" says Faith.
The couple celebrated their third anniversary Thursday.
So what was it like getting ready for their second prom together?
Robert calls it hectic and Faith agrees. "You get nervous--even though you're older--you still get nervous," she says.
Faith still remembers what she wore the first time around. "Oh, sure. I wore a strapless formal." Robert remembers it well too. "She looked as pretty then as she does now," he says.
