Dozens of locals pedal for a purpose.

The Soggy Donuts Fund Hero's Bike Ride was this morning at the ISU Memorial Stadium.

All the proceeds from the event go towards helping law enforcement affected by natural disasters.

Three bike courses of 10, 25, and 50 miles gave participants a chance to pedal at their own pace.

Soggy Donuts Fund say they started the event after so many volunteer efforts during the Valley's flood of 2008.

"It's our way of giving back. We love giving back to the community and people in need. That's what you're supposed to do. I think by doing this it's our way of giving back and interacting with everyone out here," Brad Newman with the Terre Haute Police Department and Soggy Donut Fund.

The money raised gets put in a fund for law enforcement across the country in need on www.soggydonuts.org
