And it's not just the military that gets the benefit of this effort. Crane provides an invaluable service to the civilian population.

Senior Chief Mark Wynalda says, "Here in southern Indiana, predominantly, the Indiana State Police has a bomb tech that's in charge of maybe a three to four county area and depending on his location it may be a little more quicker response if he calls the military here at Crane and we go out and take care of the situation."

One example of that action took place in Bloomington earlier this year.

Wynalda continues, "Walmart, they basically shut down and evacuated the building because there was a suspect brief case that was outside the garden center location, the home outdoor area. It ended up being just a brief case that was empty but it's still precautions that their security department has to take so they will notify the local law enforcement, which, in turn, generally notifies us through our dispatch."
